Default ABS False activation!

Hi, this is on my 1999 Cadillac Escalade, i let it sit for the majority of the summer and now the ABS seems to randomly go off at slow speeds! How do i fix this? Thanks, its pretty important because winter is coming and i need to drive this truck and i dont want to die doing it!

Sounds like you have some corrosion on and around your front ABS sensors. There was a recall for the newer ones, but the 96-99 styles suffered the same problem. You may need a new sensor or both depending how bad it is, but what i would do first is remove both sensors and clean the mating surface and wipe the sensor itself. grease the oring and re assemble. not a bad idea to hit the mating surface with a rust preventor paint after you sand it. If this doesn't solve the problem you will need a scan tool to find out which sensor is causing the activation and replace it. Also check to make sure the hub assembly isn't loose as in worn bearing, this will also cause it, but unlikely the problem.
