Default yes..a tick post.

did a quick search, but didnt find anything, which surprised me. I hear a tick at the front of the engine. Cant tell if its accessory or internal engine, but it sounds more like internal engine. Didnt know if this was common or not?

Its most definatly front of the engine, and most noticable around 1200 rpm, but still audiable from idle to around 2500 where the exhaust makes too much noise. I cant imagine it being lifter tick, but I could be wrong. Maybe timing chain? I will say that when I changed the oil this weekend, the magnet on the plug was coated with very fine metal shavings. This is my first oil change with the car, but the plug had paint (blue and white) on the end, so I dont know if the previous owner swapped it out from something else.

anyways, any idea?

Every ls1 i ever heard ticks some.........the fine shavings are normal. I've seen them every time i've changed oil in my ls1 cars.

You should hear my 02 with 41k miles....it ticks and clatters cold terrible then as it warms up just quiets down to a very light tap. If i get it really hot and run it hard it quiets down completely. LS1 engines seem to be noisier than other engines, hard to get used to but its the way they are.

ha. I'll take your word for it. I got 10k more miles, but I doubt there is that much extra wear in it.
