5.3 liter Engine ticking!!! HELP!! 5.3 liter in a 1999 Z71. I have a ticking that is driving me nuts. Sounds like a lifter (?) but it sounds like it is coming from the oil pan more than the top of the motor. It does not stop after warm up. I changed the oil and filter yet no fix. Any suggestions? Had one mechanic say the LS1 engines have a problem with the oil pickup tube flange wearing that causes the sound to start because air is getting in the line. My oil pressure is not effected at all. 40 to 42 at idle and 50 to 55 at highway speed. (Give or Take) Any suggestions???? Just don't want to get taken to the cleaners...

i have the same problem but mine sounds like a rod its not so loud after it warms up.but iv been driving it and it runs great still and im spaying my motor i cant figure mine out either.guess we both have the same problem mabey
