Help crazy things going on Well I was driving my 98 trans am yesterday and i got on it a lil , then right after my volts gauge went all the way over to the red 18V and my dash lights was blinking on and off, but when my car is at idle it is fine but when i give it gas it goes all the way to the red again, it is like my alt is not regulating my volts?? The regulator is in my alt right?, I have to turn my air and headlights on just to get the volts back down, I even un hooked the battery and still does the same thing, So I am thinking I need a new alt, any one have any probs like this before??? Let me know what u think??
