Default Wrong PCV valve?

Question... I recently installed a catch can i bought used off a member. They included a PCV valve that i installed simply for the fact i figured it was newer. The one that was on my car was attatched with a funky bracket and some kind of wire grounded to the block, the new one wasn't attatched at all. Now that its hooked up, my car is throwing a Knock Sensor I code. Would using the non-grounded pcv valve cause this?

Thanks in advance!

No. The wire and clip that attaches to the PCV valve is conduct heat from the engine to the PCV valve so it doesn't condense water vapor on a cold day.

Yea, it seems like one of those weird after thought "systems" that someone had to add late in development of the car. There are probably more elegant solutions to the problem.
