Default Please help. My car will not start!

So I got up this morning and go to class, and my car starts fine and runs fine. Nothing out of the ordinary until I leave school today. I haven't done anything to the car, this is just a random occurrence. I can turn the key part of the way and see the lights on the dash come up like normal, and hear the fuel pump priming like normal, but the security light is flashing as long as the key is halfway turned. The car won't do anything when I turn the key the rest of the way.

Is this a VATS problem? I don't care if I can't use it anymore...I just want my car to work every time I need it. SO will the bypass work for it? I need help as this is my dd and it is stuck in the lot at school and won't move. It has never done this before, and I need the car asap to work again. Maybe the chip just got old, so I tried my spare with still no luck. Any help?

Could be VATS.

Could also just need a new key from the dealership, sometimes that resistor in the key wears out.

So I had tried both of my keys. I am going to get an ohmmeter in the morning and do VATS bypass, maybe it will help.

Where is this Vats located? My friend is having the same exact issue. Is it the Vehicle anti theft system, what should we be diagnosing first.

Ok, after I check fuses I'm gonna bypass vats. Hopefully it works, but I don't feel like paying 300 bucks for an ignition cylinder.

VATS is a part of the security system. It makes sure you have the right key to start the car. It takes the resistance from the chip in your key, matches it to the pcm, and if it's a match, your car will start. If not, here is how you disable it:
