1993 t/a with 107k It doesnt always start. Have to give it gas to make it run, and then can hear it audibly sucking air. After a few minutes of this it runs awesome again, no more sucking. also sometimes has weak idle after starting. Car does not do this all the time and is hence difficult to diagnose. My mechanic's scan tool reads "possible ECM failure". He is not totally convinced and wants me to get a second opinion as he is now stumped too.

sounds like expansion is closing off a gap somewhere...
