Does differential fluid smell linger??
First time I ever had the differential fluid changed ('01 Trans Am)and the fluid smell really stinks. Can anyone advise me if the stink lingers for awhile, like days maybe?? I checked real close for any leaks or residue after the job was done but everything is bone dry. My garage just reeked the first night after it was done. It was the Delco 75-90 synthetic that was used. Thanks in advance if anyone has a similar experience or can let me know.

yes it'll linger if its in an enclosed area.
air it out for a few hours per day or febreeze the garage,
if you had the diff. oil changed then drove it right home and parked it then i'm not surprised it stinks. If you drive the car a couple days the smell will wear off faster.

Unless, of course, they look like the one in your sig, then a little gear oil smell is acceptable.

The smell is indeed fading away and I figure another 2 days and it will be gone completely. This is one time I should have left the car outside. Next time I will know. Thanks again for the help.
