Default Winter storeage opinions....

Both of my cars have been sitting inside the garage since november. Some people say you need to start them and let them warm up every few weeks or once a month. others say if you cant take the car out and drive it its bad to do that. whats your guys opinions on winter storeage?

After storing my car for 10 years in the winters, I just keep a battery charger attached. I used to start it up once in a while but they say you need to drive it for a 1/2 hour to burn off carbon etc, but to me I don't like taking it out in the snow so I no longer start the car up. Runs great in the spring.

There are plenty of precautions to take before storing a vehicle. There are plenty of threads on that subject.

Your question is if you should start it occasionally, or let it sit.

The answer is let it sit. You're causing more harm that good by starting a cold engine.
