well i found out my bcm is going bad so i decided just to get another1. when i install it do i need to do anything or just install and go.. I thought i read somewhere elseyou need to reprogram the key. But my buddy whose a tech said once you install it, it should automatically read the new key and i should be good to go.

Can you return it?

Do a search for "BCM - board solder issue" and you'll see what goes wrong and how to easily fix it.

I don't think the key affects the BCM, only the PCM. Replace or repair the BCM, you'll need to re-program your remotes.

yeah im sure i could but one of the relays went out and you cant resolder that. I did read the thread where you could re solder those 3 points. but when i took it to my buddy at the GM dealership he told me one of the switch relays went out. Is no big deal cause i only paid 160 for it. I guess its just plug n play from here.

If it's brand new, just plug it in and fire it up.

BCM learns the key resistance on the first start.
