Default Non LS1 question for yall

Ok so my mother has a 06 grandprix, her rear brake hose was bad on the pass side, so i got a new one upon taking it off i realized the calliper had a crack as well, so im gonna change the caliper/brake hose, what exactly is the torque spec for the hose to the caliper so i dont over tighten it, and the bolt that holds the brake hose to the caliper has a hole for the fluid to pass through does this need to line up with the hole in the brake hose or will it pass through reguardless?

It will pass through regardless. No need to worry about anything lining up. Just give it a good tighten.

The torque spec for the hose is "tight". Hole alignment won't matter. That bolt is called a banjo bolt, and it has a hole in it for the brake fluid to pass through. There may be a copper washer on the hose or stuck to the old caliper, replace it too.

Make sure you get a brand new washer. Their called crush washers. If you don't change it, it will leak brake fluid. I learned the hard way. I believe their a once use washer.

You can re-use them, you just have to anneal them first. The problem is usually getting it off without destroying it.
