Default Car running VERY rich

I was driving the other day and went to accelerate and the car shuttered. I drove it a mile into a parking lot--the trans temp skyrocketed and the car did not want to accelerate no matter how much gas I gave it. The engine seems to have a miss or a dead cylinder. It is dumping fuel out of the exhaust big time. Any thoughts on where to start? No current or stored codes, plug wires are fine, none are burnt, all connnections are good, cleaned the maf sensor. No audible mechanical noises from motor or abnormal sounds.

Possible torque converter problem? Check your trans fluid visually...smell it too and see if it smells burnt. Not sure why it would run rich though...what are your fuel trims? Which cylinders is it missing on?
