Default autozone alternator

Do not buy this shyt!

I've read how cheap these things were. Damn I shoulda listen
but money was a issue since I got through a friend for free

I've a 99"camaro

look were my battery gauge was on the first start at idel for about 8mins

I didnt drive my just yet, but I went shopping for a bit came home looked at my car as Im driving up I noticed a white puddle found it was battery acid..

a friend of my dads hes gona try rebuild my old alternator but will see how that goes. For now he said do a volt meter check if it reads above 14.6 its my alternator & it can fry my computer

so I thought I'd let you guys know how cheap things are! dont let it happen to you!

Always have them test it before you walk out the door with it!

That's a alternater that was re-manufactured in China

I buy those for my Back roads truck

I paid like $129 for one those pieces of Crap

Lesson Learned Buy American

I took mine back and went to the Alternater/starter shop and had the original rebuilt for $60

Buy less chinese Crap

Alittle leads to alot

Bon

Because of a fear of buying a remanufactured alternator I just bought a Powermaster alternator not to have any issues; havent installed it yet as its sitting in the trunk of my DD still.

Default Autozone

I have had nothing but bad experiences with Autozone replacement parts, especially brake rotors. I had a set on 1/2 ton Dodge Ram that kept warping. Autozone replaced them three times in 9 months gratis. The fourth time I purchase rotors from Advanced. They have been on the truck for three years with no issues. I know it all comes from China but I suspect that Autozone has lower quality standards than the other guys.

Did break your new rotors in? Like heat the pad up really hot transfer some brake material to the new rotor but don't stop because this will transfer to much in one spot and you will have an uneven rotor surface. And this will cause it to feel warped....

I've had bad parts from Oriellys... there really is no "best" parts store imo. Some parts are better at one place, and better at another.

The Dorman window motors from autozone are a much better design than factory/oriellys etc imo... Just replaced an oriellys motor with an autozone one, the stamped steel on the oriellys had come apart.

Your right. Technically I guess every part could be different story at a competing store. I just happened to have pretty good experiences at o reilly's so I do a lot of business with them. They seem to be the most fairly priced at least here in NE.
