Default voltage problem?

When my car is idling the clock lights will flicker from bright to dim and my voltage gauge will drop a couple of volts and go back up. It happens real quick once every 5 or 10 seconds.
also while driving at low rpm and giving it some throttle it feels like it's definitly missing until about 2500 revs then it goes away. any ideas?

sounds like a bad voltage regulator or possibly a slipping/loose belt issue as far as the dipping voltage is concerned.

There is no external voltage regulator on these cars.

I would take it to your local auto parts store and have them run a charging system test on it. Could be that ther alternator is going bad.

^^ do what he says....make sure to see the info they pull up when they do the test...if there is no change in charging with revs until 2500 you may have to do the "excitor wire mod"
