Default Problem with the DD, ideas?

Ok, non LS1 related question, it is still nasty up here around Chicago and don't want to get my Camaro out for about another month if I can help it but I have recently started to have some problems with my 2002 Grand Prix DD and was hoping I could find some good ideas in here.

The GP has 139k miles on it and has been a great car so far, lately, however, when braking slowly towards the end of the braking when the car is almost at a full stop the pedal starts to kind of kick back at my foot, kind of like the feeling when your on the brakes hard and your ABS kicks in, there is also a mechanical hummmmm coming from down in that direction. The ABS and "Low Trac" warning lights have come on but then went back off and it doesn't do it every time. Sometimes the pedal will kick back at me even when I am stopped.

I guess my question is, is that is this something related to my ABS? Like a sensor going bad or something? Is there anything I can try to do to remedy this or can I pull a relay or something to just bypass the ABS?

Any help would be awesome!

Thanks,

Jeff

What do you mean? Spring is here in Chicago!!! Plus, your Camaro is so much fun to drive in the winter. You just have to get a good feel for it... I think the kids these days call that drifting.

Sounds like you may have a wheel sensor going bad, causing your ABS to think a wheel is slipping. You may be able to check for codes on your car and see if its bad enough to throw a code. (The code should tell you which one is acting up.)

Haha, sure as hell feels like spring huh? I actually have a confession....I live out here in St. Charles and had to break the SS outta the garage yesterday and take it for a nice little "spirited" drive on one of the backroads. Felt nice...I'll probably have the insurance back on it April 1.

I was also thinking it could possibly be a wheel sensor, it threw the ABS warning light at me once then hasn't come on since....so I guess I will just wait until it either throws one again or check out the sensor...

So I just moved here not too long ago from Iowa...where are all of the good places to hang out on the weekends? I hear Streets of Woodfield is good?

If you have a related code, you may have it stored and available to a scan. I know auto parts stores will scan for you but I don't know if they have the equipment to scan the ABS system, or not.

Not too sure about what to do outside of the city. (So, I'd recommend anything downtown!) I usually don't step over the city's boarders. Its way too dangerous out in the suburbs!
