Default front oil seal

ok so ima replace my oilp pump and all data says not to reuse the front oil seal and to in stall it i need a align tool can i just place it with out the tool ?

Yes you can. Just be careful when you put it in.

If you have not removed your front cover, and just the seal, there is no need for the alignment tool, thats for when you pull the cover off. Its used to pull the cover down to the oil pan.

well hopefully i get no leaks ill is there a ceartain way in putting it in looks like it would fit like the rear main

When I did my cam install, I followed the instructions on LS1Howto.com. I took my cover off, and reinstalled it without an alignment tool. I haven't noticed any problems, and this was back in November 2006.
