Default Knock sensor question

Hi guys slight issue I've got and I'm a bit confused. I got gas the other day and about 15 min afterwards I got a p0332 code (and a general lack of power I'm guessing from the decreased timing) for a bad rear knock sensor not a big deal I know they go bad, but just to be sure I ran the car till it was empty. Afterwards I put gas in again and cleared the code. Its been over 100 miles now and I havent been babying the car by any means and the light hasnt come back on plus the power feels like its back and I cant hear any pinging. Is there a chance the gas could have been so bad the knock sensor was giving such a low reading the computer thought it was faulty? Or is the sensor shot? If its not throwing a code could it still be broken and pulling timing thats not necessary?

in short, yes, the gas could have been that bad. It might have been contaminated with something. I wouldn't change anything unless it happens again.
