pressure test system?
pressure test system? Got a small coolant leak and need to know:
1. How to do a pressure test on a LS1
2. How would I tell if it the pump or just the gaskets that are bad

There's a pressure tester tool for that. Auto parts stores sell them, rent them, or sometimes let you use them.
BUT.....if you don't see anything on the exterior leaking thats obvious......make sure when you do the pressure test you REMOVE all 8 spark plugs. BECAUSE, if you happen to be loosng coolant through a leaking head gasket you will fill a cylinder(s) with coolant durig the test. Then when you go to start it you could severely damge or lose the entire engine from hydra-locking it. So do the test with the spark plugs out, if you don't see any coolant coming out of any of the spark plug holes after the test, turn the engine over for about 5-10 seconds to make sure you get any out that may be there, then put the plugs back in and fire it up.
