Default 2000 Trans Am

I just purchased a 2000 Trans Am. It only has 47000 miles on it. That being said, I have noticed that the brakes are quite squeaky and if I rev the engine it seems to sputter a little. I also noticed the A/C doesn't get very cold. Before I have it looked at, I was wondering what might be the causes of the issues.

Thanks in advance

Old car syndrome.

Even though it only has 47K miles, parts still corrode with age. The car may actually be worse off if it wasn't driven enough.

The squeaking could be bad bearings and not the brakes.

I am really starting to think that it was a good idea to get the GM extended warranty. The previous owner had it for 6 years and drove it a total of 5k miles.

Probably time to cash the warranty in.

Where is the brake squeaking coming from?

Does the sputter happen when the engine is warm or cold?

The squeaking sound seems like it from all the brakes. The sputter I have only noticed when it is cold.

The brakes are probably either new and semi metallic or need to be replaced, take the wheel off and see how thick the brake pad is, if the pad is thinner then the plate it is mounted on, then it is time for new ones..... sputters, at 47000 it is hard to say I have a 2000 z28 with 47 on it and it runs like a top, of course I live in Arizona and it it a garage queen, try cleaning the MAF especially if it has a K&N filter. Make sure you can hear the compressor engage....if not a real cheap try is a clutch cycling switch, if these cars have them....haven't had to do anything to it as far as ac goes. At least that is what I would try first.

This could be normal, then. Be kind to your engine and don't rev it when its cold. You may also get a small backfire in this condition - not unheard of.

This is another one of those subjects that I wish I had taken the time to learn about from my father growing up. I am a total newbie. I appreciate all of the help.
