Question A/C Questions

I went to use my A/C yesterday jsut to see if it was still charged. Low and behold it was empty

I bought the car in 7/2005, A/C has always worked fine. I hardly ever use the A/C. Prolly since I have owned my Trans Am I have used the A/C ~25 times..

So what would make my A/C system have a leak? The car is not my DD, only has 49K miles on it.. Any ideas? Kinda pisses me off to know that my A/C is gone when I take excellent care of my car.. I really hope I don't have a leak..

Thanks

Theres no freon?
Check the lines and replace if you see some oil sipping from them.
even though you have 49K is still a 8 year car and hoses crack when theirs barely any use. Just like tires....they get old and crack.

I would check the lines, replace if leaks and is good to replace the valve(filter) before adding freon again.
And hope is not the compressor.

good luck

Well I'm not sure if there's any freon. I turned the A/C on yesterday and it was warm.. Had a little coolness to it

I doubt the hoses are cracked. Everyhting in my engine bay is pristine lol

Like any other machine, it needs to be run to stay in good condition. The compressor seals will start to leak if it just sits.
