if you can push on your coil pack connection like that and make it stumble, then yea there is something wrong. Does it do it just in that spot?

yeah it seems to be only that one spot, but today i spliced in some wires a little further back and just completly bypassed the connector and spliced straight into the coil pack harness, and it still did it...

hard to say.. but like said before, if its cut/hacked up i would get a new harness. you get any moisture or anything in those splices/cut areas it could cause some issues/interference.

Where does the wire bundle that drops down behind in the intake go to? As far as i know all i have left to disconnect the starter and the wires that run into the dash..

By the way, where do the wires run into that dash at? where do they need to be disconnected? and how many wires do i need to disconnect from the trans, where are they plugged in at on the trans?

I'm really thinking about just pulling the whole motor and trans out so I can deal with some other issues at the same time

what baffles me is if your engine is running like crap and you light doesnt come on that cant be right,,,, what if its a sensor problem, but for whatever reason its not turning the ses light on... I know nothing about ecm or had to replace one before...
but if your car acted up worse when it was wet or not,,, then its got to be a fire (plug wires, coil, distrutor) problem. It could also be a connector or wireing issues.
If it idled differently when you play with the connector,,, that may not be your issue,, just a different one... next time it acts up play with that connector when it is acting crappy see if it makes the issue go away. Im putting my money on a bad sensor or ignition issue.
But if any harness has been cut up,,, just suck it up and replace it anyway you dont need to have issues with your car and it will leave you stranded.

okay my freind's 2000 ss have the same issue after engine build ..... but he had his first 2 injector's harness on the drivers side .... give it a shot with those 2 ..... we haven't figured out the cause but we just tapped & stopped the vibe in the harness for a smoother idle .... it still get's crappy on crappy road's & loads of viberation.

Well, hell. . . . . . . Read all your posts, I would suggest starting with a nice fresh harness and work your way from that.

It really sucks *** when the person who worked on the vehicle before you is a total tool. I been dealing with that myself for a while.

It's hard to say WTF the last person did. . . .

You ever get anywhere with this?

Hello, this may be one of the worst questions to ask, BUT, here it is anyway. Did you check if the SES light is lit (bulb check) when the car is started? The 'tool' before you may have taken it out or it may be burned out. I am also pretty sure it would have thrown codes even if the light was burned out/disconnected (reference to worst question above).

sorry for a late update, i forgot all about this thread. I changed out the wire harness and the car is working great now with no issues at all.

Like i said before all of the factory grounds on the original wire harness were cut by the previous owner, and then he ran his own grounds. With the new harness and everything grounded properly i haven't had a single issue.
