Hi, I have a 1998 Camaro z28 ls1 A4 trans with 97k miles. When driving tonight I started noticing a clunking sound from the rear end and the car kind of feels held back... but it is only in first gear. It is really bad when I creep real slow. The car is 99.9% stock with only a slp lid added. Any help is appreciated guys .... I'm going to lose sleep tonight if I can't figure this out.

does it feel like it shifts into second gear REALLY hard? my 98 a4 was doing that with 100k on the odometer. after i put subframe connectors on it softened up a lot and even more with the more suspension upgrading i did. i think it had to do with my stock suspension sagging with high miles. that's my experience anyway.

Thanks for the reply 98ta. Yeah I noticed that the a4s shift a bit hard 1st to 2nd. This was something different...
I thought maybe the U-joint was going bad but I don't know.
