Default Rear Wheel Studs

I recently stripped one of my rear wheel studs and am in need of directions on how to change it. I already got a new stud from a dealer but I don't know where to start on this because it is on the rear rotor.

Remove the wheel and caliper, then remove the disc, tap the damaged stud out with a hammer and punch. Fish the new stud in from behind (possibly put the car in neutral so you can spin the hub around), make sure it's straight and pull it in with a lug and heavy duty washer (make sure the base is flat up against the axle hub). Hope this helps, that's how I changed mine.

Was your broken one on the rear? I know how to do the front but I thought the rear might be a little different because of the axle.

yup, two bolts for the caliper, keep the bracket on and pads all together, pop off the rotor. hammer it through. Use a couple washers with installing it.. it is a press fit in. I have a tool that allows the spacer/washer to spin on the hub as it pulls it through.

Hey......if 2.5" ARP studs are purchased with use with 5/16" spacers, but they are still a little long...can I just take them to a machine shop to cut 1/4"-1/2" off?

.

This is the way. Personally, I do not like to hammer on a bearing.
