bad alternator?
bad alternator? Recently I've been having some trouble with the T/A. First off, the mirror lights flicker when I unlock the car, but they stop flickering and remain constant once I turn the car on. Second, my car will sometimes have no power in the lower RPM's. From a standstill and engaging 1st gear, Ill have the clutch 50% engaged and then my car bucks like it has no power. If im rolling through a stop sign, i shift into 2nd at lower rpms fine (1100rpms), however, once i try to give my car some gas, the engine just lugs.
I test the battery/alternator with a mulitmeter and found these readings:
13.6v - Engine shut off
14.5v - Engine running
Howver, my indash voltmeter reads lower than those readings
Also, I dont know if this has any significance, but when I plug in an obd2 scantool connected to m laptop, the volts AND the oil pressure readings on my dash jump considerably.
I changed the fuel filter yesterday, but that didnt cause anything. Air filter looks cleans. What could this problem be?
