two issues with my ride One, what is the normal oil pressure on 99 trans am while in idle at normal operating temperature? while at red light i notice the needle on the oil pressure gauge hovers erattically between the 20 mark and the 30-35 mark. However, when I am cruising the needle hovers normally around the middle mark 40 or so. I've checked my oil level and it seems just fine, i changed the oil about 3 weeks ago.
Two, my trunk release motor seems to be dying on me. When I press the release button on either the remote or the one inside the car, the trunk motor makes a awful screeching or grinding sound and will not release the trunk open. I have to manually open the trunk
any suggestions?

don't qoute me on this but stock ls1 oil pump is really a pain in long life terms ... what oil do u use ??
trunk issue ... pull the carpet .. check what's wrong with the tall steel thing that releases ur trunk ...IDK what its called =)

Down here in hot *** S. FL...I have been using 20w50 personally, my motor has loved it for the past 8 years and still does. Maybe try it out, it can only help pressure, it can't hurt anything.
