Rear window defroster switch question

Rear window defroster switch question Its been so long since my rear window defroster was on, I don't remember if the switch lights up or an area on the gauge cluster does??, The reason I am asking is NEITHER does when I push the button, BUT its working because it was very humid here today and with the a/c blowing on the rear window it fogged up which caused me to hit the button and wonder why I could not see any lights...??
