Default SES P1416 could it be an O2 checked the valve

2001 TransAm Stock 55000 miles, SES light came on pulled code P1416. Air passenger side. I believe the usual fix is to replace the check valve. I pulled the check valve it seemed OK, I proceeded to clean an lube it. Could blow air through in one direction so It seemed good not stuck open or closed.

It is not putting any other codes up so I assume the air pump is good, will check it also though if bad it should SES P1415 as well I would think.

Is it possible that the HO2S sensor that should detect the change in emission when the pump is on be bad? I If it is not going below 220mv could this be the problem>? And still give the check valve code?

Which one of the O2's looks at this? location? Thanks for any help.

Default

It is certainly the check valve. PCM knows when AIR pump is running, and will set the code if something is wrong.

I cleaned the valves with carb cleaner after I got this code. Good for a year, then the code set again. I just ended up replacing them.
