Default Need help replacing window motor.

So I have the door panel off ready to replace the motor, now i'm stuck. I'm not sure where to drill exactly to expose the rivets. And after exposing them I just drill using a smaller size to drill the rivets out? I've been using that Shbox.com website as a guide but.. stuck.

My guess as to where the rivets are. (yellow dots)

SO this \/ is generally how the motor should be inside the door correct?

Also see the difference is this picture compared to the first as far as the face plate on the motor goes? Which way is correct?

When I replaced my window motor, I drilled holes to expose rivets, and I mistook what I drilled. I drilled holes exposing rivets for the regulator. You can replace the motor without undoing the regulator. I didn't have to drill any holes, only drill out the rivets for the window motor from what I can remember.

Now that I'm thinking about this.. anyone know if maybe they had provisions for the door on newer models to make it easier to replace????

I actually did both window motors this past weekend plus the autotrix passenger side wiring kit.

Green is where you want to drill to expose the rivets...

Here's the tutorial that I used: http://www.shbox.com/page/windowmotor13.html

also, you don't need to replace the window motor mount (face plate). You're just going to expose the rivets that attach the window motor to the motor mount. Once these rivets are drilled out the window motor will be free to replace.

I removed door spkr and used my hand to locate rivets on the motor then drilled directly at that location....then I used small bolts and nuts with some red loctite to secure motor in place....best of luck to you!

Default eating window motors....

Once these rivits are drilled out, replacing the window motors is easier. I'm on my third set of window motors at 58K miles, so get used to changing these out. There are lots of GM parts like this that are designed to continually fail.

my drivers side window all of a sudden started doing something funny.. when I roll it down when it gets 3/4 it kind of falls down an inch and keeps going down. Does this mean I see a window motor swap in my future? Passenger side is slow as f** already. Is that one dead too or this wiring kit help slow motors?
