Default Engine Coolant level Sensor?

Can I remove the sensor without coolant leaking out? It's at the top right hand side of the radiator next to the battery? It looks like a square with a thread that foes into radiator

No, fluid will leak out unless you drain it down below the sensor first from the drain plug that is on the bottom of the radiator directly beneath that sensor about 8 inches or so.

Just pull it out and let the coolant come out till it stops. Or if your quick it won't loose too much. I wouldn't mess with that petcock drain, those things break off all the time.

Or you can get a clean milk jug, siphon fluid out of the radiator till you are below the sensor and then pour it back in when you are done.

Just pull the sensor, let it pour out, and replace after...
It's the least amount of work.
