Default Power antenna issues

My power antenna motor had the issue of running but not moving the antenna. I bought and installed the power antenna repair kit that included a new antenna mast. The motor will now fully raise the antenna and almost completely lower the antenna but not all the way. I attached a picture showing the lowest point of which the antenna will go. How can i get it to retract all the way like it's supposed to?

if it's a new mast, probacle causes:
- a chunk of white gear tooth plastic is still in there from the old antena. did you compare the old and new masts side-by-side-by-side before the install?
- you didn't get the new mast in quickly enough when you first fed it in. were you using two people for the install? (one on the radio and one feeding the antenna in)
