ABS Inop/ Reluctor Sensor Position
Hi all -
I keep have intermittent problems with my ABS system. For the most part it works well, except I have noticed driving it alot thru bumpy roads will eventually set off the ABS Inop light. Once that starts, NO more ABS until I shut off the car put it in reverse move it back and then forward. It will reset and back in business.
So I started to wonder what might be causing this.....? Then I found more info on the rear end reluctor ring and how it interacts with the speed sensor.
I have not verified it since it requires I remove the 10 bolt cover, but I'm thinking maybe the ring is loosing contact with the sensor when hitting bumpy roads which then throws the ABS system off.
If thats the case, would I be able to adjust the reluctor ring? Or how would you make sure it is aligned better where it wont loose contact with the sensor?
FYI - I have verified the front hubs are good.
Here's a picture on what I think is the issue.
Any info appreciated.
