P0430 code!

P0430 code! Whats up all i just had a run of bad luck with my commuter, and as of yesterday my camaro threw this code P0430 Catalyst System Efficency Below Threshold. will this code effect anything?...also my security light has been on for a while...could this be related?

My car just threw a P0430 as well. I am pretty sure the problem with mine is the SLP Cat. My car only has 12,500 miles on it and the cats have a lot less than that. Car runs fine so it seems like a waste to buy another cat. Plus there is no guarantee it would work any better than the one I have in my car now. Anyone know where I can buy a pair of O2 sensors that will fool the ECM into thinking the cats are fine?

I searched on here and there's a post that talks about gm extending their warranty on the cat-converter to 150k or to this year for 2000 models...i could be wrong but it was something along those lines...if your talking bout o2 sims. one of the sponsor should have them...try FTP there something like 60 bones...
