AC compressor Could the AC compressor bearing cause the whole car to shake?? I was hearing this god awful noise sounding like my clutch was slipping... only when cold like mid warmup stage leaving house..
when warm it didnt make any noise.. so I was under the hood today and pressing the throttle cable and listening and looked down to see the ac compressor spinning to not spinning and spinning to not spinning
would disconnecting the belt hurt anything.. its about to be winter here.. I hoping it could just be a belt but ya know how things go.
would this cause the middle of the car to shake.. man thought my tranny was comming through the car.

check your trans/motor mounts. i cant see AC doing that unless the compressor is seizing randomly but even then it shouldnt matter if your not using it cus it shouldnt be engaged.

Not true............the older systems did. You gotta read the service manual. Compressor runs all the time unless something is wrong.
