Stop the squeaking - SOLVED!
#22
I wanted to necro this thread to help people looking for ideas.
For a month I had a squeak coming from inside the hatch area and it was driving me insane. It was detrimental to my overall well being. I tried tightening my spare, my jack, put electrical tape over the studs that the folding rear seat clips into, everything.
One 3AM night i got out of bed and was destined to find it once and for all.
It ended up being the JACK WRENCH. The jack itself was so tight that i'll need a breaker bar to get it out, but the wrench isnt attached to the jack very firmly at all, especially if you've used it a lot in the past. I saw evidence of the wrench digging into the metal of the floor (through the rubber coating). In the stock position the wrench is going to be practically free floating right on top of metal.
Hope that helps, didnt see this mentioned in any other threads and wanted to share my experience.
