Default help! car backfires...

It seems to runs fine until it warms up and after it warms up, it sputters and backfires. One time it dit it so bad that it backfires like 3-4 times and engine died and my tack didnt work...I already replace the O2 sensors and still doing the same thing. Anyone have any ideas what could be the problem? Its a 00 ls1 A4...

Perhaps a coil pack going out, when heated causing an intermittant problem by opening up and not firing for a cycle or two, then igniting the unburned fuel? maybe a plug starting to foul. Is the car throwing any codes?

You've gotta be throwing codes. Post them as soon as you can...

thanks guys...the problem ended up being the wiring in the crank position sensor. Replaced it and problem solved
