Water Pump Repairs

Hey everyone,

Just throwing this out there to see what the average cost is/that any of you have paid for a replacement of a water pump. I won't be going to the dealer. So, what's the average cost, let's include belt replacement, and parts and labor?

This is for my 20002 Trans Am Firehawk.

I got an OE waterpump from Autozone, and with the RTV for the gasket and coolant, all-told was about $150. I did the replacement myself. It's really not hard to change.

nah not hard, took about an hour or two, with beer.

i bet the dealer would be 500$ + .......but all shops use the same labor estimate book.....no?

Just checked labour time, it's 2.4 hours. So pump replaced with belt and some Dexcool should run south of $400.

Do it yourself, it's a fairly easy job that doesn't require any special tools.
