Default Water in Computer PIN connector

My '02 Z28 has been getting condensation and water build up in the upper Computer pin connector. My mechanic was able to dry it up and clean up some of the black crap that built up due to the water. Unfortunately water built up again and because of this my tach, gas gauge doesnt work and a bunch of lights come on in the dash. There is no evidence of water on the outside of the computer. How can this condensation be forming?

The gasket on the PCM should seal the water out. If the car is sitting on a slight downhill angle, and is sitting with the right slightly lower than the left, a heavy downpour will direct water from the black plastic "eavestrough" at the base of the windshield right into the PCM connector. If the flow is torrential, some water can get past the gasket.
