Default HELP Car voltage issue, now no start

Okay baught the car had no issues for a month or two, Then notice when i went to the track after 2 runs my battery voltage went down, than check guages came on because its in the red, From then on it would go up and down depending on acceleration breaking ect...then today its stayed in red driving didnt make it go up seems as the more i drove and started it the worse it got, luckily it started at gas station, i get home my lights are pretty dim i turn off, and forget my windows are down, so i start to hope it has enough juice to get them up and it would try to started then it would bog down and clicking noise followed along with my speedo and rpm guage went up to redline and came back down while the car was off....im thinking alternator, here is a picture of how the dash looked right before i shut it off and then wouldnt start after, MIGHT add that i had a whine noise coming from up front when turning i heard alternators can do this too as there dieing

Check the battery voltage/connections first with a digital voltmeter. If it's low you can get a free battery load test at most parts stores. Alternators are expensive (new GM units) but recommended, people have problems with remanfactuired ones.

i had this problem with my 2000 ss for a year or so ...
i went through about 4 alternators , before i finally just replaced all my positive and negative cables .
you can order a set from GM for a bout 70 ... not too bad.
if not that , look to see if your power steering pump is leaking onto your alternator , people have told me that this will sometimes cause the alternator to go crazy.

^^thats true, happened to me...but now I think my new Alt is half dead cause it was there when the PS was still leaking. It will only charge and stay around 12-13. When WOT, just cant keep up and goes down to 10-11. I have redone every wires. One last thing could be my aftermarket alarm... I've read something about the pulley bolt too..

**if its when turning, your PS pump is probably dead and leaked all over the ALT, OR most likely the crappy stock PS cooler. I removed it and since then its all better!!!**

..so many thing to look at..
