Default Found the problem

My car has been making this very annoying ticking noise and it would increase as the RPM's would increase. I finally took it to my local shop and had my buddy check it out with his sethescope (spelling?). He came up with the idea that the #7 cylinder's spark plug was loose. Sure enough, he tightend it and the ticking is gone. Just thought I should post for the many others that have that similar "ticking" noise.

That's a pretty common thing to mistake the ticking. I had the same thing 3 years ago, it was a loose wire though, and the jumping spark eroded the coil terminal to the point it had to be replaced. Thought it was a bent pushrod - it was just a crappy install by a former "tuner".

That happened to me once with my Harley.
I was about three miles from the house in the early morning when one of the plugs finally worked out of the hole!
The bike was shuddering to beat all hell, making a god awful, PSSHHT, PSSHHT, PSSHHT, PSSHHT everytime the piston ran up the bore.
Scared the living **** out of me!
I looked down to see what the commotion was all about and find the plug bouncing around on the end of the ignition wire intermittitanly sparking whenever it hit a ground.
So what do you think I did? Yep, you guessed it, I grabbed hold of it to put it back in the hole!
That sonofabitch hit me about forty times before I realized that was a really stupid move!!

Yep, drinkin and ridin! Glad those days are over!
