Default SES light!

well guys i got an SES light last night. Car drive well.
Thing is it takes about 3-8 key turns for the car to start.
Havent changed spark plugs for about 2 yrs.
Hopefully thats the case. when i turn the key half way the rpm is at 0.
after the car turns on, the needle stays below 1,000 rpms.
around 800 rpm. could it be the opti? which i havent changed it for about 2 yrs. so its either opti or the spark plugs. il check ICM or the coil.
last time i changed the opti, i sealed it around with some gasket sealant.
i have an oil leak around the opti. im hoping oil didnt get inside the opti and its causing the issue. any ideas ?

OPTI/plugs probably not the issue. You need someone who can read OBDI codes with your OBDII DLC connector and see what the PCM is saying.

well this morning i did a fuel pressure test and i got no pressure. can this be a bad fuel pump or a bad fuel pressure regulator?

This link is to check for a fuel pressure loss and regulator http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.htm...essure_testing Not getting any pressure at all might be the pump, relay, IGN fuse, wiring or even vats. Did you scan for codes? I'd try jumpering as described in the link to see what the pump does.

i know a common problem on ls1 cars if you have to turn it over alot and it cant seem to find a idle to start with is ususally the cam sensor, I would assum a LT1 car would have one of these too

seems like i tested the fuel incorrectly. im getting about 35 psi. im also getting spark.
the alternator is good and so is the battery. next im going to check the ignition control module and the coil and the starter.

well, i sprayed some starting fluid. and it started right up. so im guessing it is the fuel pump? what other things should i check before i replace fuel pump?
