Default Whirring noise in Engine, Belts?

Well theres a whirring noise coming from my engine bay in my 98 Z28, sounds lower to the ground, I notice my oil pressure is a tad lower than usual, my battery seems fine so i dont think its the alternator, im scared to think its the catalytic converter....
Would like to know what it is as my mechanic just closed, and cant make an appointment until next week.

Well what the noise you are trying to explain sounds like something that is belt driven, most of the time the whirring noise is the alternator charging, plus on the ls1, the alternator is close to the ground, like you said. I doubt it has anything to do with oil pressure.
