So, the old TS/housing does not fit in the newer pumps, but the new TS/housing fits in the older pumps, is this correct...?
old TS/housing = TS locks into housing wings
new TS/housing = two pieces

My original factory housing was a two piece and the new ones have all been one pieces. My understanding is that all the new GM thermostats are the one piece design.

You are correct, i couldn't get the new design (2 pieces) to fit in the old housing. Can't remember exactly why it didn't fit now, but it wouldn't have worked that I could tell. Just went and bought one for a 2004 GTO, the part number is listed on the first page of the thread, good luck!!
