Antenna wont go down?

Default Antenna wont go down?

It makes the noise like its going down but it doesnt. I dont know what could be wrong with it. help?

Put some slight pressure on it and try to push it down. Mine started doing it but I unplugged it because I dont listen to the radio in that car.

I might try that but I listen to the radio alot lol, its my daily. I dont want it to go down and not come back up, any idea why it wont go down?

Itll go back up. Well at least mine did. I think I read somewhere the teeth in the gears get worn down and it wont grab so you hear the clanking.

sounds like the plastic cord in the mast is broken, It will go up because its in the body, but once its up, it goes past the last tooth, and the gear in the antenna cant grab it anymore,, they are about 20$ on ebay, and not hard to install, JUST make sure you get the broken piece out of the body of the antenna.

crutchfield used to make excellent OE replacements. id give them a look.

Turn the radio on, have a friend hit the power button, when it starts to make the noise, twist it a little, and pull up a tiny or push down and it will grab it, if you do it to slow, it will only go down half way lol, just keep toying with it, I had the same problem, I just fixed mine by doing that.
