Clutch safety switch question.....

Clutch safety switch question..... 98 Z M6. Car will not start occasionally, have to depress the clutch a couple times and then it starts. I assume it is a safety switch on the pedal. Went by Chevy dealer and the sold me a "clutch poisition switch" part number #14094368
Got home to change it and I noticed that this switch is in front of the pedal, and there is a white switch behind it. I am wondering if they sold me the wrong switch. Before I change this one does anyone know which switch is the safety switch?
