Default Need Help Asap!

Hey guys,

My name is Andrew and i am new to this site. I'm having a big problem with my 1997 Trans am. About two months ago i was driving and parked my car at the local grocery shop i go back to my car and my key cylinder seemed to be stuck. I kind of forced the key to the 2 position and my Car went bananas. I took the key out and radio will just keep turning on and off. I got the car towed back home and had my mechanic get a new ignition key cylinder and vats key...Now the problem is when i put the key to the on switch i get no power what so ever. No power to the radio, antenna, headlights, windows, gauges, Fuse box, and ECU. I am just so lost right now on what could have happened or where there is a short in the car...My mechanic tried looking for the problem for about hours...any opinions would help. Thank you for your time guys and hope to be part of this Wonderful Site!

It could be the actual ignition switch further down the column

Honestly, I think the mechanic is the issue - but its too late to deal with that.

Did the car work after the mechanic did the initial work? If so, I would think something came loose.

Do you know if the VATS key type was the same old vs. new? If not, do you know what they did about the PCM re-programming? Or did your VATS delete take care of that? You could also have an issue with your VATS delete job.

No power to anything?
You have to have an electrical issue. A battery cable, connection, battery etc.
The VATS system will have nothing to do with the headlights not working & no power to sounds like everything.
