Would one out of a manual Camaro work in an auto?

If you mean ignition coil than yes.

No i mean the key cylinder......the part that your key goes in

I'm not sure if the interlock mechanism is a part of the cylinder or not. If you want to fix it inexpensively, you should take it to a locksmith. They can rebuild it - good as new!
