first ls1 oil change..

Default first ls1 oil change..

just got the car so Im gonna go ahead do the change so I can start my own clock.. previous owner said it ran synthetic.. motor has 141k.

1998 z28

1. how many quarts.
2. any particular brand filter you all can recommend.
3. what type of oil?


I use to just run Mobil 1 or amsoil in my mustang, i take it those are good brands for this car as well..

6 quarts oil
pf46 if your getting an ac-delco filter
mobil 1 is a good brand to use, as i do in my t/a, but everyones got their own opinion

Mobil 1 seemed to be a little noisy. I use a wix filter with the amsoil and it does well.

Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 and a FRAM or K&N filter. if German Castrol 0w30 is available i get that instead and a K&N truck filter

QSUD and purolator filter (you don't need pure one just the regular filter is good enough).
