Help selecting alternator 2001 camaro ss. I was unsuccessful doing a "smart phone" search. My alternator is going out so I'm looking to pick one up from a junk yard. should I assume one that has the same electrical connection and fits the bracket would work? the stock one I believe is 150 amps, how do I know how much amps a junkyard alternator would have?
the stock one is only like 105 amps....hence why our cars interior lights flicker......advanced auto has a special going right now, ends tonight only on online orders.....i beleive the one we need is from 2003+ pick ups with....

There are many different flavors of this particular alternator design that will work on the car. Any salvage yard will have a parts lookup, which will allow them to pull a similar alternator from a different model car.
I hope you get a real deal. These are such a pain in the *** to work with that I'd freak if I bought a used alternator and it went out after a couple of months.
