Default Heater/fan problem

97 Formula. Has no a/c unit at all. The heater will blow nice and hot, but the fan will not turn on high. It works on the other speeds. Any thoughts on what I need to replace? The search garnered no results, but I could have missed it.

Check the high blower relay, the fuseable link that powers it, & the switch.
Those would be the 1st on the list.

There is a resistor module which consists of a resistor coil with taps for each of the fan speeds...

remove it and look to see if the high-speed end of the resistor coil has come loose or is burnt out.

The resistor is by-passed for full speed operation.
He has the rarer type of failure. Usually it's the lower speeds that dont work lol.

Yes, you are correct... the resistor module is bypassed and a relay switches the blower motor on.

So you can look and see the voltage ar the fan motor. High should be 12V. It is amazing this technology has not changed over the years.

I had the exact same problem on my 79T/A with the resistor pack. I finally bypassed it and put it to a switch on the dash. On high or off. I didn't care at least it worked.
