17 mpg, seems low

17 mpg, seems low 2000 ss, 6 speed 68000m all stock, had a month ran a couple tanks through it and get 17 MPG. Changed plugs and wires w/ no change. I have a 20mile trip to work half at 60mph half is stop and go. Car runs great but I thought MPG would be over 20.

I get around 18 average, Lotta traffic lights, some cruising around 50-60. Keep in mind sticker MPG is 19 city 28 highway for m6 V8. A lot of it is driving habits too, and stop lights eat gas like crazy.

i have a 1999 z28 auto with 3.73 and i still get about 19-22 mpg in city and round 25 on highway. that is crusing on highway round 70...b4 i had the 3.23 (think thats right?) and i was 23 in city easy and good 26 on highway. easy way to find out. fill your tank up, reset your trip and drive 100miles. fill it up again, see how many gallons it used then divide gallons added by 100.
